Elektro Waser AG x Benetics AI: Good Documentation Starts on Site

For over 60 years, Elektro Waser AG has stood for electrical installations in Central Switzerland. Around 20 employees are out on a wide variety of construction sites every day – supported by Benetics AI.

The challenge: good work includes good documentation

On a construction site, something is always happening. Tasks get completed, plans are adjusted, additional jobs come up and decisions have to be made at short notice. For everyone involved to keep track, this information has to be documented properly.

That was not always easy at Elektro Waser. Who has the paperwork? Is it complete? Is the current plan back at the office or still in an employee's car?

Managing Director Patrick Schaffhauser knows these situations from everyday work: "Documents got lost, weren't always filled in completely or were still sitting in an employee's car. Then someone else had to step in and first piece everything back together."

On top of that, every project manager worked a little differently. Some documented digitally, others with printed plans or handwritten notes. It worked, in principle. But it wasn't efficient. In the electrical trade in particular, that can quickly become critical.

"In the electrical field, anything safety-relevant is extremely important. It has to be documented cleanly and be traceable at any time."

Digitalisation only works when it's simple

Elektro Waser first heard about Benetics AI through its own network. What impressed Patrick most was how easily reports can be captured by voice. Employees speak naturally into their smartphone – and Benetics AI automatically turns that into a structured report. Even Swiss German works reliably.

"The fact that voice works so well – even in dialect – genuinely surprised me."

The rollout deliberately started with a small group of employees. Before long, it was clear that the solution works in everyday use.

For Patrick, the decisive success factor is ease of use: "It mustn't be complicated. There are employees who simply don't enjoy administrative tasks. That's exactly where Benetics AI helps."

A real-world example: one photo prevented a second call-out

Just how big the difference is today became clear in a situation that has stuck with Patrick.

A fitter had finished an installation and documented his work right on site with photos and a report in Benetics AI. Patrick received the notification at the office straight away. Looking at the images, he spotted a small execution error.

Through Benetics AI, he immediately sent the fitter a message. The fitter was still on site and could fix the mistake right away. Without this documentation, he would have had to drive back to the site later – or the customer would have spotted the error first.

For Patrick, this example shows the biggest benefit of all: "Information flows between the site and the office with no delay. That's a game changer."

Today, Benetics AI is the central point of information

By now, Elektro Waser uses Benetics AI far beyond reports. Plans, plan revisions, safety documentation, day-work reports, measurement reports, technical manuals, photos, tasks and project information are all in one central place.

Even details such as building keys or access information are stored directly with the relevant project. This reduces queries and prevents employees from having to pick up the phone because key information is missing.

Three benefits Elektro Waser particularly values

  • Fewer queries: All project-relevant information is available where it's needed – right on the construction site.
  • Faster collaboration: Photos, tasks and reports reach the office in full and in real time.
  • High acceptance in the team: The voice function makes documentation so simple that it has become second nature in everyday work – even for employees who tend to avoid administrative tasks.

Conclusion

For Patrick, it's not the number of features that determines whether software succeeds. What matters is whether it makes everyday work easier for everyone – on the construction site just as much as in the office. That's exactly why Benetics AI is now a firm part of day-to-day collaboration at Elektro Waser.

"Everything has to be low-threshold, so it works for everyone."
